This hotel was obviously once of a very lofty quality and has been let go to seed a petite over the years. Nonetheless its initial class location and stylish charm go a long way, and the property comes highly recommended for groups and personal travellers on a budget who value character and style. Ry0804. Obviously once a very impressive building, the hotel is now showing its age rather. The building is, like many of the hotels in engelberg, in traditional swiss/british style, with ornate plasterwork and large sash windows. The rooms vary considerably in size from small to large. The also vary somewhat in condition, some being truly quite elderly fashioned, whilst other have more modern furniture and have recently been decorated.

The building is, like abundant of the hotels in engelberg, in traditional swiss/british style, with ornate plasterwork and large sash windows. The rooms vary considerably in size from petite to large. The also vary somewhat in condition, some being actually quite old fashioned, whilst other acquire more ultramodern furniture and acquire recently been decorated. Likewise the bathrooms are from fair to good condition. All rooms benefit from the facilities and comforts one would expect of a simple 03 star however. The hotel restaurant is just off the lobby. It is in slightly more rustic style than the lobby with solid old furniture. massive windows give the room a gorgeous airy feel. The lobby is large and grand with graceful pillars and decorative coving to the ceiling, though, like the outer of the hotel, it could do with some renovation. There is ample seating and a pool table. This hotel is located directly opposite the entrance to engelberg's petite railway station.
