At the heart of the gornergrat skiing/hiking district, the luxurious riffelalp resort 2222m lies 2, 222 meters (7, 290 ft.) Above sea level. The location offers a unique alpine panorama, while benefiting from the favorable microclimatic conditions. The initial imposing hotel was built between 1878?1884, but totally destroyed by fire in 1961. 1988?1998, the berghotel riffelalp opened again to visitors. December 1, 2000 marked the chance of riffelalp resort 2222m, offering all the services and amenities of a modern five-star hotel.
